AntiSpam is an iOS app built on Apple's official Message Filter extension (IdentityLookup). iOS hands every SMS from an unknown sender to the extension, which classifies it on the device: junk goes to the Messages "Junk" folder silently; everything else is left untouched. The extension has no network access by Apple's design, so message content never leaves the phone. No account, no tracking.
One-time passcodes and verification codes, bank transaction notices, delivery tracking, appointment and exam reminders, and personal texts from mobile numbers are protected by hard rules. In the October 2026 measurement only 7 such messages out of 13,117 were misclassified.
Version 1.4 (October 2026) was measured on 13,117 real Turkish SMS received between 2018 and 2026 with sender-grouped cross-validation: 98% precision and 96% recall with advertising counted as spam. The engine combines rules (betting vocabulary, 300+ gambling brands, link shorteners, suspicious domains, de-obfuscation of "b*nus" / "fr3espin" / "c a s i n o") with a tiny on-device hashed text model (512 KB, stores no vocabulary or text).
iPhone only (iOS 17+, including iOS 26/27 and iPhone Duo). Apple's filter applies to SMS/MMS from senders not in Contacts; iMessage, WhatsApp and senders you have replied to three or more times are not filtered. Turkish-language spam is the focus.
